BIOGRAPHY

Marjorie Windrem is a Milwaukee based artist, originally from Northern California. She received a degree in fine art and design from Mills College, Oakland CA, with an emphasis on painting and printmaking and later completed a K-12 art education certification from UW Madison.  She has  won awards and participated in many group shows, both in California and Wisconsin.  Marjorie loves travelling, animals and gardening, all of which inform her art practice.  Landscapes, waterscapes, gardens both wild and tamed, and celestial objects are all of interest. She practices figure drawing, photography and printmaking which enhance her main focus, oil painting.  She is inspired by Lake Michigan and the wonderful natural resources available to us here in Milwaukee and the night sky observable from her  proximity to the lake and the big sky above.  She is currently a member of MARN and WPCA,  in Milwaukee, both member gallery and art event organizations.
