I use layers of color and loosely applied paint to create non-literal interpretations of the world around me. My current focus includes depictions of Milwaukee and Lake Michigan and I enjoy experimenting with different sized canvasses, often working back and forth between fairly large and very small.   My most recent work has moved away from more freely abstract marks to somewhat more defined representations, while still maintaining a loose, expressive style. I like to paint the small canvasses with a large brush.
